Karen Barnett-Fisher

Age: 58
Karen Loretta Barnett-Fisher, a long-time resident of Oxford, passed away August 18, 2014 in Delaware. She was 58.

Daughter of Donna Mae Barnett and the late Rudolph Barnett. She was the beloved mother of Kristen (Robert) Wingeier and William R Fisher. Wonderful grandmother of Jacob, William, Mariah and Marissa. Dear sister to The late Donald Barnett, Ron Barnett, Sharon (Jay) Hills and Donna (Peter) Barelski.

She’s also survived by her loving neices and nephews along with many great neices and nephews.

Karen will be dearly missed.

Arrangements were handled by Rogers Funeral Home in Milford, Delaware.

DAVID ALLEN McNEVEN

Died: Saturday, August 16, 2014
Age: 74
McNEVEN, DAVID ALLEN, age 74, died in Oakland County on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Born May 1, 1940 in Almont, Michigan, he grew up in Romeo, Michigan before settling in Clarkston and Drayton Plains. For nearly 40 years, he was the successful business owner of Coach’s Corner with stores in Clarkston and Waterford, Michigan. David was an avid lover of all sports. He actively played baseball and softball as a pitcher, played platform tennis, and sponsored numerous youth sports leagues. He is survived by his wife Anne, his sister Barbara (Bill) McNeven Lepech, and four nephews and their families. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 5481 Dixie Highway, Waterford, Michigan 48329. Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation starting at 10:30AM at the church, and for lunch immediately following Mass. Interment will be held in private at the Romeo Cemetery. Martha Nell Fisher

Died: Saturday, August 16, 2014
Age: 81
Martha Nell Fisher; of Lake Orion; passed peacefully on August 16, 2014, at the age of 81. Born on August 14, 1933, in Golconda, Illinois, Martha moved to Pontiac as a small child when her father found employment as an automotive transport hauler.

Martha graduated from Pontiac Central High School and worked for a local furniture company before dedicating more than ten years of service to the children of Lake Orion Community Schools as a teacher’s aide.

Later, she worked as a finance and service manager for Parkhurst Homes in Oxford. However, more than anything, Martha truly devoted her life to her family.

Married to William L. Fisher Sr. for 61 years, her unwavering commitment was rooted in her deep faith and love. The caring mom of William (Linda) Fisher, Brenda (Bill) Gibson, and Lisa (Darren) Macco; giving grandmother of seven, Jeremy, Kristen, Bill, Jordan, Lindsey, Jason and Stacy; and proud great-grandmother of ten.

Martha always had the right words, gentle reminders and warmest hugs.

A talented mind, kind soul and generous friend will be greatly missed, but her gifts will carry on through all of those that she has touched.

Rest peacefully and know that our world is a better place because of your love.

Family and friends will gather together for visitation and remembrance at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, starting at 10 a.m.

Funeral Services were conducted at noon of the same day, immediately followed with a burial service at Square Lake Cemetery.

Martha Nell Fisher, of Lake Orion, passed peacefully on August 16, 2014. She was 81.

James F. Hafner III

Died: Saturday, August 16, 2014
Age: 24
Hafner, James F. III; of Lake Orion; age 24; passed away August 16, 2014. James is the beloved husband of Janelle nee: Neumeyer; loving father of Jacob; dear son of James (Kris) Hafner Jr. and Deborah (Ray) Schatzberg Lake; dear brother of Christopher Ehmann, Brandon Ponke and Jackie Smyth. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lester Schatzberg, grandmother, Shirley McVittie and his cousin and best friend Allen Smith. James was born on February 17, 1990 in Warren, MI. He was a 2008 graduate of Lake Orion, MI High School and an honor graduate of basic training. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, he was in an Iraq War Veteran and he served in Operation Odyssey Dawn.



Funeral Services with full Military honors will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 at the King of Kings Evangelical Lutheran Church 1715 S. Lapeer Rd., Lake Orion. The family will receive friends at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Flint St., Lake Orion, MI on Friday, from 12 to 8 p.m. The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made for Jacob in c/o Hafner Trust, Safe Federal Credit Union, P.O.
