Betty M. McGuire

Age: 91
McGuire, Betty M.; of Lake Orion; age 91; January 3, 2015. Betty was the beloved wife of the late James P. McGuire; loving mother of Kristin Berry; dear grandmother of Logan and Paige; and sister of the late Thomas Berlin. Betty was a very active and longtime member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Oxford and the Marco Lutheran Church in Marco Island, Florida. She enjoyed singing in the choir at church and traveling with her husband. Betty was also an avid reader, she loved to play the piano, and spend time with her grandkids. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Oxford. The family will receive friends at church from 10 am until the time of service. Interment White Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Eduardo John VALVERDE

VALVERDE, Eduardo John “Ed”; of Brandon Township; formerly of Warren; January 3, 2015; age 66; husband of Danuta; father of Eduardo II and Brian; stepfather of Anna (Andre) Jodlowski; also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandson; son of Felipe (the late Maria) Valverde; son in law of Victoria (the late Walter) Kluska; brother of Rosalinda (Herbert) Seubert and LuzAnne (Joseph) Palazzolo. Ed retired from Chrysler as an engineer. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Lodge 6824, Ortonville. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed boating, golfing and bowling. Rosary service Wednesday 6:00 p.m. at Lewis E. Diane Immell

Died: Saturday, January 03, 2015
Age: 70
Diane S. Immell, of Oxford and formerly of Pontiac, passed away on January 3, 2015. She was 70.

She was born in Harrisburg, IL on November 1, 1944 and was the beloved wife of James Immell for 51 years.

She is also survived by her daughter Kimberly and her son Michael (Shelly); grandchildren Travis, Taylor, Justin, Shelby, Dakota and Wyatt; great-grandchildren Brandon and Shelby; and brother John Furlong. She was preceded in death by her parents John Furlong and Wanda Jean Travelstead Furlong.

Diane was very proud of her work in the I.S.C.A. car show circuit where she devoted her time and energy as a car handler and detailer. She also was a softball coach, girl scout leader and school cook for the Oxford Schools (Daniel Axford Elementary).

Even with so many activities, she was rarely separated from her life companion and best friend, James. More than just a married couple, they truly enjoyed spending time with one another, enriching each other with the others company.

Per Diane's request there will not be any immediate services. Once the weather turns warmer there will be a gathering celebrating Diane's life. Arrangements for cremation entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors in Oxford.

Jean A. Huber

Died: Friday, January 02, 2015
Age: 84
Jean, an Ortonville resident was born on July 29, 1930 in Detroit to Josephine (nee Petrous) and William Kerch. She was a lifelong resident of the Detroit area. She graduated from Catholic Central High School and worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Detroit as the manager of the emergency and outpatient business office, where she retired after 22 years.

She liked pontoon rides with her husband, Art, and her dog, Clover. Her grandchildren enjoyed spending time with their grandmother as well. Jean loved to cook and would have special cooking lessons and movie days with her grandkids. Jean was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards and sewing. She loved all kinds of music, especially Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Motown and country. She also enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas and having her family over for holidays.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed.

Jean is survived by her loving children, Catherine (Kenneth) Struzek, Susan (Patrick) Bouchard, Carol (Kevin) Heinemann, Arthur Huber III, Michael (Merry) Huber, and Patricia (Michael) Kulesza. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Artie IV, Shaun, Andrea, Tony, Danielle, Ann, Christopher, Olivia, Renee, Kevin, Grace, William, Cierra, Cameron, Jennifer, Kimberly, and Elizabeth, as well as eight great-grandchildren, and her dear sister, Marlene Somers. Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur William II; her brother, Kenneth Kerch; and her grandson, Stephen.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.), 3-8 p.m, Friday, Jan. 9. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10.

Janet Louise Hillier

Jane Hillier of Goodrich; was born in Michigan to the late George and Jennie (nee: Atkinson) Stokes. She married Robert Hillier on June 2, 1962 in Flint, Michigan. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; two children, Karen (Mike) Abbey and Robert (April) Hillier; four grandchildren, Amanda (Mark) Bourassa, Trevor, Jenna and Chase Hillier; two great grandchildren, Lane and Kase Bourassa; four sisters, Sharon (Dan) Hyde, Connie Howitt-Scott, Diane (Dennis) Stockwell and Rebecca (Charles) Young; one brother, Ronald Stokes; preceded in death by one grandson, Aaron Suddeth and one brother, Richard Stokes. Janet was a member of First Baptist Church of Goodrich and served as a volunteer for 10 years at Genesys Hospice. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Goodrich (6116 S. State Rd., Goodrich). Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hadley. Offadohl Griffith (Whitehorn), of Ortonville, passed away on Dec. 30, 2014. She was 78.

Preceeded in death by her husband James (Sonny). Mother of Bunnie Sunn (Larry) of Salt Flat, Texas, Collene Pace of Lake Orion, Rhonda O’Berry of Ortonville, Wendell (Brenda) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Letisha Griffith of Ortonville. Grandmother of eight, Great Grandmother of 10½.
