John Osmen Ronk

Age: 87
John Osmen Ronk, 87, of Port Huron formerly of Clarkston, Michigan died on Friday, November 28, 2014.

He was born September 2, 1927 in Clarkston to the late Gerald and Elizabeth Ronk.

He served in the U.S. Army and was employed by the U S Post Office and Clarkston Community Schools. He served for many years as a volunteer firefighter for Independence Township Fire Department.

He is survived by his children Susan, James, David and Beth Ann; step-son, Ronald; and their families. Preceded in death by his wife Arline; brother, Frank; son, John Gregory; and step-son, Randy Hermann.

KATIE E. ADAMS-LANGLEY

Died: Thursday, November 27, 2014
Age: 43
ADAMS-LANGLEY, KATIE E., of Clarkston, formerly of Grosse Pointe, age 43, November 27, 2014 following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Cherished wife of Scott Langley. Precious daughter of Patti Bower Clarke and Kenneth (Doris Persicketti) Bower. Loving mother of Brandon & Joshua Adams and step mother of Megan and David Langley. Dear sister of Matthew (Jahna) Bower and Julie (Scott) Sekella. Also survived by special aunts, Nance Piggins and Heather (Tom) Bower. Katie completed her Masters in Social Work at Wayne State University. She was a member of Phi Sigma Sigma – Ferris State University. Katie was employed as a social worker for the Lapeer Public Schools and was a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Kitty Hawk. A Celebration of Katie’s Life will be held December 20, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at Clarkston United Methodist Church, 6600 Waldon Rd., Clarkston 48346. Loran W. WALKER

Died: Tuesday, November 25, 2014
Age: 57
WALKER, Loran W.; of Clarkston; suddenly November 25, 2014; age 57. Loving husband of Susan for 32 years. Beloved father of Adam and Barbara Walker. Brother in law of Carol Walker and uncle of Michael Walker. Son in law of Skip and Marilyn Speck. Preceded in death by his parents Norman and Lois Walker and brother Norman M. Walker. Loran earned his Doctorate at Lawrence Technological University. He was currently a full Professor at Capella University. Loran was very active in the Project Management Institute. Eileen Withun

Died: Saturday, November 22, 2014
Eileen Caroline Marie Withun, born December 19, 1924 to Arthur and Albertina Meyers, died November 22, 2014. She attended Capac High School and Business College in Pontiac. She was employed and retired from Fisher Body in Pontiac and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Oxford. Eileen married

Russell Withun on June 29, 1946 who preceded her in death on October 11, 2009. Eileen is survived by a son, Gary (Kim) of Oxford and a daughter, Carolyn (Tom) Powers of Joliet, Il.; granddaughters Angela (Scott) Becker and Nicole Withun; nephew Keith Meyers and niece Karen LaHaie. Preceded in death by her husband

Russell, her parents, three brothers: Kenneth, Arthur and Marvin Meyers; two sisters-in-law: Helen and Violet Meyers, nephews Ronald, Kenneth and Rodney Meyers and nieces Marilyn LaHaie and Diane Ervinca.

Eileen loved to play cards and bingo. A day at the casino was a day well spent.

A funeral from Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Oxford was held on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Memorials may be made to

the Lake Orion Nursing Center, 585 E. Flint Street, Lake Orion, MI 48362.

Daniel Duane Banfield

Died: Saturday, November 22, 2014
Age: 72
Daniel of Ortonville was born Nov. 11, 1942 in Northville, Mich. to the late Warren and Gertrude (nee: McIntyre) Banfield. He married the former Linda Coleman on Feb. 23, 1963 in Clarkston, Michigan. Dan retired from Consumers Energy in 2001. He was a member of the Utility Workers Union of America. He enjoyed woodworking, garage sales, collecting Lionel trains, dancing and was a history buff. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson Andrew.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Linda; daughter, Cathy (Greg) Stewart; grandson, Andrew; and brother, John Michael Banfield. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark, in 2009.

A funeral service was held Nov. 26, 2014 at Coats Village Funeral Home, Ortonville. Interment at Ortonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Centers of Hope. To send a condolence, go to

Shannon Annette Crenshaw

Shannon of Clarkston was born Jan. 26, 1986 in Pontiac to James Thomas and Cynthia (nee: Estes) Crenshaw. Shannon was a graduate of Holly High School.

She is survived by her mother, Cynthia; brother, Chris Crenshaw; sisters, Shilo and Heather Crenshaw; and grandmothers, Shirley Estes and Betty Crenshaw.

Louis E. Brockman

Age: 91
Born September 11, 1923, Louis E Brockman passed away at the age of 91 in Holiday, Florida on Nov. 20, 2014 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, daughter Lynn (Richard) Rapparlie, son Christopher (Julie) Brockman, stepsons Brian and Phil (Michelle) Petty. He was preceded in death by his late wife Edith and daughter Sandra. He was the proud grandpa of 5 and a great grandpa of 9.

Louis was a longtime resident of Lake Orion, MI before spending a few years in Clarkston, MI and later moving to Florida. He was very active in the Lake Orion and Oxford communities.

Louis was a Past Grand Knight and lifetime member of the Lake Orion K of C Council 4764. He was also a past President of the Lake Orion Lions Club. He attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in New York and was a WW ll veteran. He was the founder of the Louis E. Brockman Painting Co. serving the entire greater Detroit area with industrial painting.

A Memorial Service will be held later next spring and any Memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Children’s Services in Clinton, Michigan.
