Jacob Siggins of Ortonville died suddenly due to a motorcycle accident. Jacob is the son of Michele (Brian) Falzon; brother of Justin; uncle of Liam; grandson of Theresa and Christopher Hampton and Julie and Thomas Byrd; preceded in death by his father Robbie and grandparents Joanne and Robert Siggins. Joseph Jaje of Goodrich was born June 11, 1946 in Goodrich, Michigan to the late Joseph and Stella (nee: Kubinski) Jaje, Jr. He is survived by four siblings, Bernadette Fauster, Leonard (Susan) Jaje, Thomas (Mary) Jaje and Bernard Jaje; aunt, Angeline (Edward) Sienkowski; nieces and nephews, Andrea Jaje, Danny Jaje, Joanne (Eric) McGlothlin and Jennifer (Jeff) Breidenbach. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Vietnam and a life member of the Davison VFW. He owned and operated Jaje’s Trucking and was an active farmer in the Goodrich-Hadley area. Rite of Committal will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 at Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd., Holly) with military honors by the U.S. Air Force. Fr. Robert Knowles, Jr. of Holly was born December 22, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Robert and Anne (nee: Chaney) Knowles, Sr. He married Jill A. Busch on August 22, 1987 in Troy, Michigan. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jill; three sisters, Nancy Dahlenberg, Mary Armstrong and Dianne Coil. Bob spent 30 years as a roofing contractor operating Knowles Construction. He received and Associate’s Degree from Oakland Community College. He was involved with National Ski Patrol for 10 years and enjoyed softball for 20 years. Bob went to Boat Racing School APBA and was a spotter and volunteer with the Detroit Race River Regatta working in pit operations. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Ging Council, 4th Degree, Eucharistic Minister and Mass Steward. He enjoyed deer hunting, concerts, golfing, boat races, skiing, any sports event and especially the Lions and Tigers. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church (825 S. Ortonville Rd., Ortonville) where Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Gerard Frawley, Celebrant. Family will received friends on Monday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus at COATS VILLAGE FUNERAL HOME-ORTONVILLE. Billy Betts of Ortonville died surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Barbara for 55 years; beloved father of Tammy (Jim) Suder, Billy Jr. (Judie) and Tonya (Ryan) Gilbert; preceded in death by his son Rob; proud grandpa of Brandi (Clint) Bolinger, Jacob (Hayley) Suder, Aron and Lilly Betts, Kirsten, Natalie and Peyton Gilbert, Kaylee and Megan Betts; great grandpa of Lucas Bolinger and Marley Betts; dear brother of Ed (Betty), Raymond (Jean), Jack (Robin), Shirley (Don) Watson, Ruthann (Gus) Firu and Helen McCellen. A 2:30 p.m. service for James Albert Lantz will be held on Tuesday, July 28 at Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd.) in Holly.
Lantz, who was born in Bay City and raised in Oxford, passed away on Nov. 8, 2014.
A small gathering will take place following the service at American Legion Post 108, located at 130 E. Drahner Rd. in Oxford.
Lantz joined the U.S. Air Force in 1966 and did five tours in Vietnam. During his 23-year Air Force career, he was stationed all over the world, the last place being Madrid, Spain. He retired with the rank of master sergeant.
Following the Air Force, he lived in Mio, Michigan for two years, then settled in Kingman, Arizona in 1991. He worked for Arizona’s Mohave County for 10 years, then retired in 2011.
Lantz was a lifetime member of VFW Post 10386 in Kingman and American Legion Post 108 in Oxford. He was an envoy member of Beta Sigma Phi, which he joined in Spain.
He is survived by his wife Cathleen and children – Patrick, Chris (Michelle), of Las Vegas, and Sheree (Michael), of Lacey, Washington.
Lantz had five stepchildren – Jeff, of Kingman; Brandon (Michelle), of Princeton, Minnesota; Dan Jr. (Andrea), of Pontiac; Bryan (Delani), of Blanchard; and Marcie (Daniel), of Waterford.
His grandchildren included Brooke, Kyle, Shaun, Nicholas, Noah and Jase, all of Las Vegas, and Ethan and Ricky, of Lacey.
Lantz had 17 step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Raeli and Braydan.
He’s also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Lantz was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Rose Lantz, and former spouse, Barbara.

Karen Kay Gregory, of Lake Orion, passed away on June 27, 2015. She was 74.
Daughter of the late Laverne and Ina Robinson, Karen was born and raised in Oxford.
She attended Oxford Schools and was a U.S. Postal mail carrier in Oxford for 30 years.
Karen was very loving and was loved by everyone who knew her.
Wife of the late William; preceded in death by her son Anthony Gregory; mother of Darla Kay Gregory, Lynda Lee (Ron) Bernstein, Wesley (Tina Marie) Gregory, and Carla Marie Gregory; sister of Marchia (the late Harold) Hoult, Lynda Lee (the late Bill) Schultz and the late Warner Robinson; grandmother of Louane, Charity, Daniel, Anthony, Joel, Christopher, Jason, Nicole, Jennifer, Danielle, Maygan, Shayna, Hope, Angela, Michael, and Melissa; also survived by several great-grandchildren.

Gerald Owen Baxter, 69, of North Branch, and formerly of Lake Orion, died Saturday, July 25, 2015. Jerry was born August 8, 1945 in Lapeer to Ray and Winifred (Ford) Baxter.
Jerry graduated from Lake Orion High School, class of 1964. He was a diesel mechanic, working for over 30 years with the Lake Orion Community School District. Jerry was very passionate about gardening. He believed deeply in a self-sustaining lifestyle which included their own orchards, grape vines, cattle, chickens, as well as producing maple syrup and canning each year. He will be dearly missed.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sue Baxter; daughter, Courtney (Cory Simpson) Johnston of Lapeer; brother, Rex (Kathy) Baxter of Oxford. He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Donald and Larry Baxter.
