Carl R. Glygoroff, Jr.

Died: Thursday, August 07, 2014
Age: 48
Carl R. “Butch” Glygoroff, Jr. of Hadley Twp., formerly of Lake Orion, died suddenly due to an auto accident.

Carl “Butch” Jr. is the beloved son of Carl “Butch” Glygoroff of Hadley and Mary Lynn Glygoroff of Ortonville; life partner of A.J. Breeding; dear brother of Leanne (Dewayne Chavis) Glygoroff and Kevin (the late Linda) Glygoroff; uncle of Jamie, Christina and Gracie; papa to Jocelyn; nephew and cousin to many.

Butch was known as a “Hooptologist” and was a talented classic car restorer and mechanic. Fixing, customizing or building cars kept him busy, along with matching people to the right cars—internationally. He re-built and hand-tooled parts for his dad’s 1938 Chevy Master Deluxe. The 4-wheeled love of his life was a 1959 Chevy Brookwood which he modified by adding a 1959 Pontiac front clip. This was quite a conversation starter.

Special interests included hunting deer, cooking/grilling, frequent family get-togethers, living in the country and enjoying the family pets. Showing his car at Autorama, Creekfest and various cruise nights are a few of his annual activities for the last few years. He loved being an active member of the Rod Rockers SC, as well as Nightmares Car Club, The Damned Wheel Club and was active in preparation for the ‘Back to the Bricks’ car cruise events. Visitation and graveside services were held recently. A celebration of his life was held Aug 17 at the family home in Hadley and was a time to share stories with one another, while re-connecting with friends and neighbors from years ago.

Those who knew him are familiar with the following sayings often used by Butch: “It is what it is.” “Gettin’ ready to get ready.” “It’s done.” Earlier this year, he had a dream of blending clubs together and having an event called “Butch’s Nightmare Before Halloween.” Due to his recent passing, Rod Rockers moved it up to Aug 23 and held it as a tribute to him, with help and support from the other clubs, friends, associates and family. It was a huge event with old cars, motorcycles, live bands, food, silent auctions, raffles, and loving people. Butch had a knack for making friends and touched many lives during his lifetime. He will be missed by many!

Messages may be posted on his Facebook page or the online guestbook at wintfuneralhome.com.
